What is Alignment?

The process of training a model to behave in accordance with human intentions, values, and instructions. Alignment techniques include RLHF, DPO, and supervised fine-tuning on instruction-following datasets. Aligned models are more helpful, less harmful, and more likely to follow user instructions.
