What is Hybrid search?

A retrieval strategy that combines vector similarity (semantic) search with traditional keyword (BM25) search. Captures both the exact-match precision of keyword search and the semantic recall of vector search. Used in Qdrant, Weaviate, and pgvector (in 2026).
