What is Instruct model?

A model variant that has been fine-tuned on instruction-following datasets (conversations where a user asks a question and an assistant provides a helpful answer). Instruct models are designed for interactive use. Always use instruct variants for chat — base models generate continuations of text rather than answering questions.
