What is Temperature?

A sampling parameter that controls the randomness of text generation. Temperature 0 (or near 0) produces deterministic, focused outputs. Temperature 1.0 produces varied, creative outputs. Values above 1.0 increase randomness further. Typical values: 0.1-0.3 for factual tasks, 0.7-1.0 for creative writing.
